How
Can
You
Have
A
Happier
Family?
|
|
Does
your family struggle with:
•
Ongoing
family
stress
•
Conflicts
between
two
or
more
family
members
•
Marital
problems
•
Violence or
sexually
inappropriate
behavior
by
adults
or
children
•
Problems
between
siblings
•
School
problems,
academic
or
behavioral
•
Disrespectful
or
aggressive
behavior
in
children
•
Extreme
shyness,
withdrawal
or
dependency
in
children
•
Anxiety
•
Depression
•
Substance
abuse
•
Eating
disorders |
Family
therapy
may
be
the
treatment
of
choice
for
all
of
these
problems.
There
is
no
greater
joy
than
a
happy
family
home.
The
reverse
of
that
is
also
true:
there
is
no
greater
pain
than
an
unhappy
home.
Harmonious
family
relationships
are
the
foundation
of
a
meaningful
life.
As
a
marriage
and
family
therapist,
I
am
a
relationship
expert.
Family
therapy
is
a
powerful
instrument
of
healing
and
change.
Our
work
together
can
address
the
problems
of
one
or
more
individuals,
or
the
unhappiness
of
your
entire
family.
We
begin
by
evaluating
the
strengths
and
weaknesses
of
your
family,
considering
every
member’s
voice.
Together
we
determine
what
changes
need
to
be
made
and
discuss
methods
for
achieving
your
goals.
Depending
on
the
situation,
this
may
include
individual
therapy
or
couple
therapy.
I
work
with
your
family
to
help
you
learn
improved
skills
of
communication
and
collaboration,
successful
problem
solving
and
conflict
resolution.
The
goal
of
our
work
together
is
to
reduce
stress
and
to
eliminate
specific
symptoms
that
interfere
with
healthy
functioning.
Your
child
or
adolescent
may
have
problems.
Most
children
do
not
usually
convey
emotional
disturbance
in
the
same
way
as
adults.
They
often
display
behavioral
signals
such
as
a
change
in
temperament,
increased
moodiness,
clinging,
or
crying,
“temper
tantrums”
or
defiance,
social
problems,
problems
with
authority,
academic
problems,
eating
disorders,
or
substance
abuse.
These
symptoms
can
be
painful
and
stressful
on
the
entire
family.
You
have
tried
reasoning,
bribing,
pleading,
withholding,
or
punishing.
But
none
have
worked.
I
can
help.
At
times
I
may
work
with
your
child
or
teen
alone.
I
also
assist
you
in
bettering
your
parenting
skills
so
that
new
and
effective
approaches
to
improving
your
child’s
behavior
can
be
developed.
My
focus
is
helping
your
entire
family
establish
and
maintain
an
environment
of
respect,
cooperation,
and
enjoyment.
Family
therapy
may
be
the
most
powerful
method
of
all
to
address
your
individual,
couple,
or
family
unhappiness. |
