| The
Central Carolina Occupational Safety
and Health School is a not-for-profit
corporation dedicated to the safety,
education and training needs of businesses
in central North Carolina. The school
was formed with the cooperation of
the North Carolina Department of Labor,
The Triad Chapter, and the North Carolina
Chapter of the American Society of
Safety Engineers. The organization
is solely dedicated to providing an
annual Safety School for representatives
from both private and public sectors.
The curriculum includes demonstrations
and instruction to promote the safety
and health of attendees, their co-workers,
their subordinates, the general public
and the safety of property, both publicly
and privately owned. The financial
support for the educational training
provided by the Central Carolina Occupational
Safety and Health School is partially
provided by an attendance fee from
the participants, but relies heavily
on the contributions of businesses
located in central North Carolina.
All proceeds are used to further the
cause of safety in business and industry
in the designated geographical area.The
Board of Directors and Officers are
chosen from representatives of companies
located in central North Carolina,
the North Carolina Department of Labor
and the North Carolina Industrial
Commission. Directors and Officers
serve as volunteers without salary
or payment for their services or time. |
